XviD is a video codec just like DivX.Most new movies and videos are being encoded with XviD.The XviD Codec is needed to play movies encoded by XviD.XviD is better than DivX.
What's New: Changes since 1.2.0: * xvidcore library * Fix for 'nested function' potential compilation error * WIN64 fix: Properly treat xmm6/xmm7 registers as non-volatile on WIN64 * Added test for WIN64 xmm6/xmm7 preservation to xvid_bench Changes since 1.1.3: xvidcore library * Complete AMD64/EM64T 64-bit support * Added support for WIN64 platform * Multi-threaded encoding support * SSE3/SSE4 optimizations * Faster and more precise mpeg intra quantization * Fixed bug in packed pixel format colorspace conversion * Noexec-stack security patch * Fix for bad resync marker length * Improved decoder robustness for broken streams containing B-frames * Fix for potential out-of-bound access to MV bits table * Added SSIM quality-metric plugin VFW frontend * WIN64 compatibility * Added widgets for SSE3/SSE4 * Auto-detection of available processor cores * Minor GUI cosmetics DShow frontend * WIN64 compatibility * Minor GUI cosmetics I have two builds uploaded: One which is a plain compile of the release-sources and another one with an experimental addition. The "-VAQ"-Build adds a new routine for calculating the quantizer level of single macroblock in the Adaptive Quantization mode. This build doesn't seem to help much currently, I need to do a new build with a more recent patch from the x264-developer Dark Shikari soon. Also, as I currently don't have access to my 64-Bits-machine, I can't offer a build for 64-Bit operating systems. Sorry about that.
